Genstartshjertets mission er at udbrede kendskabet til førstehjælp. Derfor tilbyder vi kurser i førstehjælp i hele Danmark, både til virksomheder, institutioner, foreninger, klubber og privatpersoner. Hvert år tager livet en alvorlig drejning for cirka 3.500 danskere idet, at de rammes af et hjertestop. Det er umuligt at vide, hvornår og hvem et hjertestop rammer, men det er sikkert og vist, at alle personer kan blive udsat for at få det tæt ind på livet. Enten ved, at man selv bliver ramt af ulykken, eller ved, at én i sin nære omgangskreds gør. Selv om det er umuligt at vide, hvornår det sker, så kan man værne sig imod de mest fatale konsekvenser af ulykken, hvis man er i stand til at yde førstehjælp. Chancen for at overleve et hjertestop stiger nemlig med helt op til 60 % ved, at der bliver ydet hurtigt og effektivt førstehjælp. Førstehjælp er derfor den vigtigste årsag til, at mennesker overlever et hjertestop.
Af den grund er det afgørende, at du som person ved, hvordan man yder førstehjælp. Mange danskere har på et tidspunkt i deres liv gennemført et kursus i førstehjælp, særligt i forbindelse med, at de har fået deres kørekort. Problemet er bare, at de fleste mennesker over tid glemmer, hvad de lærte i forbindelse med dette førstehjælpskursus. Derfor er det vigtigt, at man sørger for at få det genopfrisket regelmæssigt og derved holder sig opdateret, så man rent faktisk føler sig komfortabel ved at træde til og hjælpe, hvis en person falder om på gaden. Hvis dit førstehjælpsbevis er under 2 år gammelt, tilbyder vi et opdateringskursus som kun tager 3 timer.
Vores kurser i førstehjælp kan tage helt ned til 4 timer at gennemføre, så det vil tage få timer af dit liv at tilegne dig denne livsvigtige viden. Til gengæld vil du efterfølgende være rustet til at gøre en forskel for en person, som befinder sig på tærsklen mellem liv og død.
